Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
PolicyBasic ("PolicyBasic," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by PingAlpha, an Arizona LLC, located at 2820 S. Alma School Rd Ste 18 #553, Chandler, AZ 85286. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
PolicyBasic is not an insurance company, agency, or broker, and does not issue, sell, or bind insurance. We match visitors with a partner from our network who may contact you about auto insurance.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
When you submit our auto insurance form, we collect the information you enter, which may include: your name, email address, phone number, and home address; your date of birth, gender, and marital status; your self-reported credit rating and residence type; your driver's license status, the state that licensed you, and the age you were first licensed; whether you need an SR-22 or similar filing; your driving and insurance history, such as tickets, accidents, or claims in the past three years, whether you were insured in the past 30 days, and any DUI/DWI, bankruptcy, or repossession in the past five years; your current insurance status, coverage type, and policy expiration date; and details about your vehicles and any additional drivers on your policy. We use it to match you with a partner, and we share it with that partner as described under "How We Share Information" below. Once a partner receives your information, its own privacy policy governs how that partner uses it.
Sensitive personal information
Some of the information above, such as your date of birth, driver's license status, and driving history, may be considered sensitive personal information under some state laws. We collect it only to provide the service you request, which is matching you with a partner that can contact you about auto insurance, and to prevent fraud, secure the Site, and comply with the law. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you. It is sent over an encrypted connection. We do not ask for your Social Security number or bank account information.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect:
- Attribution and campaign data - if you arrive via an affiliate or advertising link, we record the campaign identifier, click identifier, and any sub-tracking values present in the URL, along with the landing page URL, timestamp, and which partner your inquiry was matched with.
- Device and usage data - such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, referring URL, and general usage of the Site.
- Cookies and similar technologies - we set a first-party cookie to tie your visit to the affiliate click that brought you here, and we use your browser's session storage to avoid recording duplicate clicks if you reload the page. See "Cookies and Tracking" below.
How We Use Information
- To collect your inquiry through our form and match you with a partner who may contact you about auto insurance.
- To attribute your visit to the correct affiliate or advertising partner, and to report back to that partner whether a lead resulted in an outcome (for example, a sale or no-sale), so they can be compensated correctly.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
We are not an insurer and do not make underwriting, eligibility, or pricing decisions, and we do not use the information described above to make them.
Cookies and Tracking
We use a first-party cookie set by our attribution service to associate your browser with the affiliate click that referred you, and browser session storage to remember that a click has already been recorded for this visit so reloading the page doesn't create a duplicate. These are functional, not advertising, cookies set by PolicyBasic itself. We also load Google Fonts, which may cause your browser to make a request to Google's servers; see Google's own privacy policy for how they handle that request. We also use TrustedForm, a service of ActiveProspect, on our form. It records a certificate of the consent you give when you submit the form, and to do so it may capture details of your visit and your interactions with the form, such as the page, your IP address, device and browser information, and how the form was completed. See TrustedForm's own privacy policy for how it handles that information.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking our attribution cookie may prevent an affiliate partner from being credited for your visit, but will not prevent the Site or our form from functioning.
How We Share Information
- Partners - the insurance or marketing partner from our network that we match you with receives the information you submit through our form so it can contact you about auto insurance.
- Affiliates and advertising networks - we share click and outcome data (for example, campaign ID, click ID, and whether a lead sold) with the affiliate or ad network that referred your click, so they can be paid and can match our postback to their own records.
- Service providers - vendors who host our infrastructure or process data on our behalf, under obligations to protect it.
- Legal and safety - when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PolicyBasic, our users, or others.
- Business transfers - in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We share the information you submit with the partner your request is matched with, and that partner or an advertising network may compensate us when that happens. Under some state privacy laws, this may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out using our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page; see "Your Choices and Rights" below.
Data Retention
We retain inquiry information and attribution and click records for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve lead outcomes, pay or reconcile affiliate partners, and meet our legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to opt out of certain sharing. You can make these requests for any information collected by PolicyBasic, including the information you submit through our form and the attribution and usage data described above, using the contact information below, and we will respond as required by applicable law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and other applicable state privacy laws. If your information has already been shared with a partner, you may also need to contact that partner directly about the copy it holds.
To opt out of the sale/sharing of your personal information, visit our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. We also automatically honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, where sent by your browser, as a valid opt-out request.
Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party partners' websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page, and we will update the "Last updated" date above.
